V4 Academic Leaders in Prague

On 1 and 2 October 2024, the traditional meeting of the academies of the Visegrad Group was held in the Czech capital.

The delegation of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences consisted of Tamás Freund, President, Anna Erdei, Deputy Secretary General, and Gergely Bőhm, Head of the Office of the President.

In addition to presenting the current activities of the academies, the forum also discussed knowledge transfer and its approaches, the place of women in science, the reform of research assessment, and the security aspects of international research.

This year’s Hungarian winner of the annual Young Researcher Award was John Szabó, who gave a short presentation on his research and achievements (see his English-language citation here). Kristýna Kaucká, Piotr Kuligowski and Barbora Buzássyová also received the award.
