International Relations
The Hungarian Academy of Sciences is committed towards international cooperation in the field of scientific research. It seeks to promote multi- and bilateral relations based on the mutual benefit of partners and an active dialogue on issues of global relevance including energy, water, climate change, food security and health. Both in its European and global relations it aims to represent the social relevance of science and the importance of science in policy making with a clear view on ethical, social, cultural and environmental issues of scientific research.
The international activities of the Academy include the following main fields of actions
- membership and representation of Hungary in international organisations which provide support for scientific research
- bilateral agreements with national academies and other national research institutes
- participation in European Union organisations and cooperative actions
- organisation of the biannual events of World Science Forum
- calls to support individual or collaborative research activities
The Department of International Relations is responsible for the administration of international relations
