MTA’s declaration of support for the continued operation of the Polish National Science Centre (NCN)

In the interest of the protection of the freedom of scientific research and the autonomy of scientific institutions, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences fully supports the continued operation of the Polish National Science Centre (NCN), the closure of which has become a distinct possibility in the light of recent statements by the Polish Minister of Education and Science and the spokesperson for the Ministry.

As a member of Science Europe (SE), the MTA wishes to express its solidarity with the NCN, a partner institution that funds proposals of excellence for fundamental research and is a key player in both the Polish and the European research and innovation system.
