A rendezvény az AE Budapest Hub „Duna Régió” tematikus programjának („Danube Region thematic mission”) webináriuma, amelyen egyrészt a Duna Régiós Interreg Pályázatokat mutatják be általánosságban, másrészt pedig egy konkrét nyertes pályázat - a Tid(y)Up - révén bemutatják a Duna vízgyűjtő medencéjének mikroműanyag szennyezettségéről gyűjtött tudományos adatokat is.

The Interreg Danube Region Programme provides EU funding, among others also for international research teams from the region in various topics, and has a call currently open until 3 April, 2024. In this webinar, we are briefly introducing the Danube Region Programme, providing some practical advice about grant writing, then presenting the major outcomes of a recently closed project entitled Tid(y)Up and some hints of the recently awarded continuation of this grant entitled Aquatic Plastic. Both are led by Attila Dávid Molnár, biologist and film director (Naturefilm.hu Society), who will showcase his original idea and the main findings of the Tid(y)Up project. Finally, Tímea Kiss will present the results of her latest research related to microplastic monitoring in the Tisza river, carried out in the framework of the Tid(y)Up project, together with her colleagues Alexia Balla and Ahmed Mohsen.

We hope that this webinar of the Academia Europaea Budapest Knowledge Hub will on the one hand facilitate knowledge transfer about river microplastic pollution in the region, while on the other hand it will inspire researchers from the region to apply for Interreg projects, and thus will serve capacity building. With the latter aim in mind, a Q&A session will be arranged at the end of the event.
