The series of annual EUROSENSORS Conferences, the only European scientific forum to cover the entire field of Sensors, Actuators, Microsystems and Nanosystems celebrates its 30th anniversary. Beyond the traditional general topics the scientific focus this year is on “sensors for healthcare”, and “sensors for the automotive industry”, reflecting the importance of these fields for the Hungarian economy.

Four plenary speakers from three continents were invited to give insight into advances of the above main directions allowing a glimpse also into the not too far future shaped by Internet of Things. 656 high level submissions from 46 different countries, enabled the compilation of a high level scientific program with 140 accepted oral and 340 poster presentations.

As satellite-events the traditional EUROSENSORS School on Fundamentals of Sensors in Healthcare will be held on Sunday, before the Conference. Also an information session of the European funding agencies (ERC, H2020 and Europractice) is planned on Monday.

Collaboration of science with industry is a key element of economic success also in the sensor field. We hope to serve the interests of our partners and exhibitors by facilitating the introduction of their products and R&D plans in the exhibitions.

Three major European project consortia (SENSIndoor, PiezoMAT and INCITE) will hold dissemination open sessions for the interested attendees on Wednesday.

The international conference is supported by the Engineering Chapter of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and AK Congress.
